Walkin Dead Ultra 24h
Walking Dead Ultra 24h (WDU24h) is a unique 24-hour race, the race starts when most go to bed, at midnight, a mental challenge from the start.
You have 24 hours to run or walk as far as you can on an about 3km long track, the man and woman who run the furthest are rewarded not only with the honor but also with a wonderfully soft winner's teddy!
At the lap station you can leave a so-called drop bag where you can have food, clothes, etc. that you want to have access to during the race. You can store your pack either indoors or outdoors, indoors you have to take off your shoes to access it so it can be an advantage to have it outdoors if the weather permits.
There are toilets, showers and a sauna at the station to use both during and after the race. Since we finish at midnight, we recommend that you stay a while and sleep indoors before getting in the car if you are driving yourself.
In addition to your own pack, you will have access to water (both cold and boiling), tea, coffee and bouillon. We may also offer some other goodies, but bring your own energy that you need during the race.
Information- What kind of race is this
A 24-hour race is an endurance race where participants run or walk for exactly 24 hours. You choose how you spend your time and how much rest you want between your laps.
- Who is the race for
Since the course is quite short, this 24h race is suitable for everyone, you will come back to the resting area very often and can take a break when you need to. If you've never participated in an ultra before, time trials are a good way to start to get a feel for what it's like to run or walk for a longer period of time.
As you are responsible for yourself, you must be at least 18 years old to participate.
- Where is the race
The race takes place at Järvafältet outside Stockholm, and more information about the exact location and course will come later.
- What does it cost
Because we want everyone to be able to participate, we will continue to run the race for free! The race has some costs so we will accept donations to try to cover them but there is absolutely no requirement for it and you can give according to your ability.
